Abstract

The descriptions of conflicts by the Arbeitskreis OPD (2024) often identify several core and leading affects that are often similar in valence between conflicts, while the Oedipal conflict lacks clear leading affects. The planned study will investigate whether the assumed core and leading affects according to OPD (Arbeitskreis OPD, 2024) can be found in a clinical sample in line with the descriptions of the various conflicts. Due to the connection between conflicts and structural level, as well as between structural level and affects, the structural level according to OPD (Arbeitskreis OPD, 2024) will be included in the study. Based on these connections between affects, conflict and structure, the planned study will use an exploratory, questionnaire-based approach to investigate how OPD conflicts in active and passive mode correlate with different affect dimensions. In addition, the study will examine how the structural level according to OPD correlates with different affect dimensions. Finally, a hierarchical regression will be used to examine whether OPD conflicts or the OPD structural level make a greater contribution to predicting the various affect dimensions.
