Data used for article Back to populism: mapping a multidisciplinary field

The dataset used in this study is publicly available in the Open Science Framework (OSF) repository. It comprises 14,416 unique bibliographic records retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection on December 10, 2024, covering publications on populism indexed across the fields of Political Science, Communication, Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, Sociology, and Economics from 1950 to 2024. The records are stored in the standard Web of Science tagged format and include full bibliographic metadata such as author names, titles, publication years, source journals, keywords, abstracts, and cited references. The dataset also includes the VOSviewer map and network files generated for the keyword co-occurrence, co-authorship, and co-citation analyses presented in the article, along with the Python deduplication script developed with the assistance of Claude Code (Anthropic) to identify and remove 1,201 duplicate records from the original 15,617 exported records.
