Non-Pharmacological Interventions in the Prevention and Management of Delirium Among Older In-Hospital Patients: A Scoping Review
Abstract
Delirium is a common and serious complication among hospitalised older adults and is associated with adverse clinical outcomes. Although non-pharmacological interventions are recommended for prevention and management, their operationalisation and reporting vary considerably across studies. This scoping review will map how such interventions are described and implemented in medical and geriatric wards, including their content, delivery features, resource requirements, and reported outcomes. By systematically mapping this evidence, the review aims to clarify current practices and identify gaps to inform future intervention development.
