Lecturas de la Filosofía Moderna y el Renacimiento en la fenomenología acontecial: Jean-Luc Marion y Jean-Louis Chrétien contra Martin Heidegger
Abstract
The aim of this work is to analyze the interpretations of Modern Philosophy based on the phenomenological works of Jean-Luc Marion and Jean-Louis Chrétien, showing how these can be contrasted with Heidegger’s reading of that period. In light of the analyses of Modernity and the Renaissance by these two French thinkers, we seek to demonstrate the possibility of an event-based reading of both eras. In Marion’s case, this can be seen through what we call a “bifrons history,” and in Chrétien’s case, through an “oblique history.” In both instances, the goal is to show the possibility of a simultaneous reading of Modernity and the Renaissance, not as periods in which the understanding of being as certainty and object reaches its peak (as Heidegger suggests), but rather as historical moments in which a history of phenomena characterized by an excess of meaning can be elucidated.
