Actualització de la plataforma laboratori de domòtica remot
Abstract
This project updates a 2008 KNX/EIB home automation model, replacing an obsolete system with a modern architecture based on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Docker, Home Assistant, and KNXD. The solution enables 24/7 remote access via institutional VPN (FortiClient) and offers real-time control with integrated video streaming (go2rtc). After evaluating various alternatives, an open-source software solution was implemented that integrates existing sensors and actuators with current IoT technologies. The results highlight an improvement in sustainability: energy consumption has been reduced by 24%, 37 kg of CO2 emissions have been avoided annually, and licensing costs (initial 345) have been eliminated. The project demonstrates the feasibility of modernizing educational infrastructures using open source, guaranteeing efficiency and scalability.
