A SCOPING REVIEW PROTOCOL TO IDENTIFY THE GLOBAL STRATEGIES FOR THE ERADICATION AND CONTROL OF SICKLE CELL DISEASE
Abstract
This scoping review aims to systematically explore global strategies for the prevention, control, and eradication of sickle cell disease (SCD), with a focus on resource-limited settings. It will synthesise evidence from existing review articles covering interventions such as screening, genetic counselling, public health education, and health system strengthening. The review follows Arksey and O’Malley’s methodological framework to identify key themes, gaps, and regional trends in SCD interventions. The findings will provide valuable insights to guide policy decisions, research priorities, and effective program implementation for SCD management worldwide.
