Abstract

When deciding whether to resurface the patella during revision total knee arthroplasty, it is important for the orthopaedic surgeon to understand the indications, the risk factors and complications associated with patellar resurfacing, and what surgical options are available for reconstruction of the extensor mechanism and/or the management of complex patellar bone loss or osseous deficiencies.
