Abstract

This OSF project documents Work Package 1 (WP1) of the PhD project “Modelling Types of Bereavement and the Psychological Structure and Consequences of Grief: Advancing Knowledge and Research Capacity Using UK and Irish Data Resources.” WP1 involves a structured data resource audit and mapping review designed to identify, evaluate, and catalogue UK and Irish social science data infrastructures and datasets containing bereavement-, grief-, or loss-related variables. The project is organised into two sequential stages: Stage 1 (Archive Identification): Systematic identification, screening, and evaluation of archive infrastructures and dataset discovery platforms. Stage 2 (Dataset Identification): Planned systematic identification and documentation of individual datasets within the archive infrastructures identified in Stage 1. Stage 1 has been completed and fully documented within this OSF project, including search strategies, decision logs, methodological specifications, verification procedures, and supporting evidence. Stage 2 is pre-specified and will be implemented following completion of Stage 1. All materials are organised to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and independent verification of audit decisions. This project contributes to the development of a Bereavement and Grief Data Archive Research Portal to support secondary data analysis in grief and mental health research.
