Impact of parental incarceration on criminal trajectory among adolescents: a scoping review protocol
Abstract
A parent's imprisonment results in a brutal separation from the family, with major consequences for the child's psychological and physical development and well-being. A parent's imprisonment can lead to social, academic, behavioral and emotional difficulties, with the appearance of externalizing and/or internalizing behavior. Therefore, our aim is to review the studies assessing the impact of parental incarceration on the criminal trajectory and the protective factors that may protect adolescents from engaging in antisocial behavior and a criminal career.
