A Scalable Methodology for Integrating Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education
Abstract
This project presents a field-tested, theoretically grounded methodology for integrating Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into higher education, with particular focus on strategic decision-making competencies. Originally implemented at Tecnológico de Monterrey, the framework combines immersive simulations, real-time performance analytics, and structured reflection to enrich the learning experience beyond traditional case-based approaches. The white paper synthesizes theoretical contributions from experiential learning, constructivism, cognitive load theory, and transformative pedagogy. It also provides implementation guidance for faculty members and institutions interested in adopting immersive and AI-enhanced learning environments. All materials are shared under a Creative Commons BY-NC 4.0 license to promote adaptation, evaluation, and global collaboration. This project supports the advancement of scholarship in international business education and broader interdisciplinary settings.
