Abstract

The HSC Library’s Wellness Collection was created simultaneously with the HSC Library Wellness Team in 2017. The original collection was inspired by recent grant purchases in the field of consumer health, but subsequent purchasing in 2018 introduced complementary medicine, health humanities, and environmental wellness. The collection is intended for the use of library visitors–including students, staff, and faculty of the HSC–and members of the general public and features books on areas of wellness considered more relevant to users in a health related setting, including topics on mental health, physical health, stress and burnout, complementary medicine, and narrative medicine. The Wellness Collection Expansion Team (Pomputius, Crumpton, Eaton) volunteered to perform an analysis of the wellness collection, with an eye to purchasing new materials for the collection and revitalizing interest in the existing monographs.
