Abstract

This scoping review aims to assess the current landscape of imaging biomarkers developed for the detection, monitoring and prediction of treatment-related side effects to inform treatment adaptation for improved patient outcomes in radiation therapy. It seeks to identify the types of imaging biomarkers utilized, their clinical applications, and the extent of their validation (and clinical translation) in detecting, monitoring and predicting radiation-induced toxicities.
