Abstract

Aim. This project publishes a unified, testable framework for studying “life” across biology, AI systems, and organizations. The framework treats body (structure) and soul (signal/drive) as a conjugate pair, quantified by two ledgers: the price of order Φ(s) and the budget of drive ψ(λ). Alignment is measured by a non-negative gap G(λ,s); mass/substance is the curvature identity M(s)=∇²Φ(s)=I(λ)⁻¹ (I is Fisher), giving the inertia of changing structure. Work/function is tracked by structural work W_s=∫λ·ds and the ledger identity ΔΦ=W_s−Δψ. Environment enters as a declared baseline q with a robust neighborhood for drift handling.
