Toward a Valid Measure of Student Burnout in Serbia: Psychometric Properties of the MBI–SS

Student burnout has been linked to adverse outcomes (e.g., depression symptoms, substance abuse, dropping out of university). Our study evaluates whether the Serbian translation of the Maslach Burnout Inventory – Student Survey can validly and reliably assess burnout among university students. Having such an instrument is a crucial step toward research that aims to identify individual and environmental factors contributing to student burnout, which can serve as a basis for developing preventive strategies.
