Abstract

In this mixed-methods diary study trans youth (aged 11-21) will report their daily experiences with a focus on social interactions (especially non-affirming experiences such as misgendering and distal stressors), gender dysphoria on a social and physical level - possibly resulting from these experiences - as well as affect, and health related quality of life. This research project aims to broaden the understanding of gender dysphoria, particularly the differentiation of triggers into social and bodily factors. To increase participatory research, trans youth will be included in the last step of the detailed conceptualization of this study. They will participate in a workshop and a pilot study providing feedback and making suggestions for changes.
