Abstract

The aim of this scoping review (SR) is to map the scientific literature that discusses intersectionality and vulnerability in studies on chemsex practices among the LGBTQIAPN+ population, identifying which conceptual theoretical frameworks have been used to explain these practices and their associated contexts of risk and vulnerability. The following databases and search platforms will be included: Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), United States National Library of Medicine (PubMed), Scopus – Elsevier (Scopus), Excerpta Medica Database (EMBASE), and Web of Science (WOS), as well as grey literature through Google Scholar. The review will follow the JBI methodology for scoping reviews, guided by the PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses for Scoping Reviews) checklist extension. The search strategy will be structured based on the PCC framework in which P (Population), C (Concept), and C (Context) guide the formulation of the research question. Controlled descriptors from DeCS and MeSH will be used and combined through the Boolean operators AND and/or OR. Original qualitative and/or quantitative studies involving participants aged 18 years or older will be included. The search aims to answer the following question: How has the scientific literature addressed the theoretical and conceptual frameworks related to intersectionality and vulnerability in studies on chemsex practices among the LGBTQIAPN+ population?
