Devociones y religiosidad local en Pamplona (siglo XVIII): Un análisis a partir de fuentes notariales y parroquiales disponibles en FamilySearch
Abstract
This article examines Pamplona’s local religiosity in the New Kingdom of Granada through the analysis of religious representations and practices adopted by the faithful during the 18th century. Using notarial and parish records digitized by FamilySearch, it investigates the reception and appropriation of Catholic doctrine, focusing on religious images and devotions promoted by religious orders, the secular clergy, and brotherhoods. Additionally, by analyzing wills, the study identifies the most prominent religious advocations, revealing devotional patterns among Pamplona’s faithful.
