Entre el deseo de poder y las chispas de esperanza: Efemérides goianas al comienzo del periodo republicano (1890 – 1922)
Abstract
The objective of this article is to analyze the holidays established by the Republican Government. First, we sought to understand how the national holidays created in 1890 were celebrated in Goiás; later, we analyzed the state holidays created by the authorities of Goiás. The theoretical support to support the interpretative argument came from Walter Benjamin’s Theses on the Concept of History, seeking to perceive both the potential for domination and emancipation present in these events.
