Abstract

Tytuł pracy doktorskiej: "Design, synthesis, and characterization of C2-symmetric small molecules blocking PD-1/PD-L1 interaction"Despite significant advances in modern medicine, cancer remains one of the most serious global health challenges.Immunotherapy, particularly immune checkpoint inhibitors, offers a promising treatment strategy that has the potential to significantly improve therapeutic outcomes. One of the key immune checkpoints is the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway, which plays a pivotal role in regulating the immune response to pathogenic agents.Activation of the PD-1 receptor leads to the downregulation of T lymphocytes by limiting their activity and proliferation.PD-L1 and PD-L2 are glycoprotein ligands of PD-1, which are commonly expressed on cancer cells across various malignancies.Activation of the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway enables tumor cells to evade immune surveillance, thereby hindering the body's ability to initiate an effective defense against cancer progression.Inhibition of this pathway through specifically
