Functional capacity and Functional Ability in an ageing population: A scoping review

Considering the existing challenges and divergent perspectives in the current body of research on FC and FA, this scoping review aims to use existing literature to define the term FC and explore its various dimensions in an ageing population. The goal is to clarify a broad concept and to provide a precise operational definition, encompassing its dimensional nature. By addressing the uncertainties surrounding the definition, this scoping review aspires to contribute valuable insights to the broader fields of gerontology, public health, rehabilitation, and healthcare, thereby promoting the well-being and quality of life for ageing populations worldwide.
