Abstract
The article examines the features of the implementation of credit policy and credit risk management in the domestic banking sector in wartime. It is established that today the importance of constant monitoring of the state of the loan portfolio, timely analysis of borrowers' solvency and flexible adjustment of credit policy in accordance with new economic challenges is growing. The regulatory measures of the NBU to reduce the level of problem debt in the structure of bank loan portfolios are determined, in particular, the introduction of a requirement to use data from the NBU Credit Register when assessing credit risks, easing capital requirements, providing credit holidays, and supporting state programs for financing small businesses The main risks for the financial sector of Ukraine at the present stage are considered, among which the largest is macroeconomic. The key indicators of credit risk of Ukrainian banks, as well as the largest systemically important state bank of the country, are analyzed, and the quality of their loan portfolio is assessed. It is established that the banking system of Ukraine maintains relative financial stability even in crisis periods. A high level of liquidity coverage ratio and adequate provisioning in accordance with international standards ensure the stability of the banking sector. The factors of financial stability of domestic banks during the crisis period are determined. The level of credit risk is forecasted for the near term in the banking sector of Ukraine - a key strategic management tool for both financial and credit institutions and the state regulator. It is emphasized that in the absence of additional regulatory or economic measures, there is a risk of further growth in the share of problem loans in the medium term. This indicates the need to strengthen anti-crisis instruments and improve credit management systems in the banking sector. The expected trend is consistent with the macroeconomic situation, because during the war period the economy operates in conditions of uncertainty and unpredictability. It is emphasized that the increase in the share of problem loans during the war period actualizes the need for systematic monitoring of asset quality, and the decrease in lending volumes indicates a more cautious policy of banks in terms of placing their own resources.
