Gillian Rose, interpreter of Walter Benjamin: the ‘unintended consequences’ of asceticism
Abstract
The focus of this text is Rose's interpretazione of Walter Benjamin's work. Rose takes two approaches to Benjamin: one based on Derrida’s interpretation and the other in opposition to it. Both are important. The former is particu-larly interesting when it comes to exploring the critical issues of postmodern analyses, which encounter many difficulties when it comes to accepting and elaborating on the potential and limits of modernity.
