Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the potential of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas in its international context. It contrasts trade relations and the degree of integration with the main ports of the member countries of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). The study focuses on the strategic evaluation of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, comparing it with other ports in the CPTPP member countries, using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) methodology. Through this quantitative approach, the efficiency and performance of the major ports in CPTPP countries are analyzed, identifying competitive advantages and areas for improvement. Finally, conclusions are presented aimed at further strengthening the regional economic dynamics, highlighting the central role of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas in the context of CPTPP ports, based on the results of the DEA model.
