Human Rights+ Project
Abstract
This project develops the Human Rights+ (HR+) framework, a conceptual extension of human-rights theory addressing harm that remains unrecognized within existing legal and institutional systems. Across its papers, the project introduces Perceptual Justice as the moral and procedural ability of societies to perceive harm before it becomes normalized or bureaucratically invisible. The HR+ research line explores: Recognition failure in human-rights, asylum, and institutional contexts Invisible harm and attribution gaps The moral architecture of perceptual justice The limits of rights systems and the normalization of harm Each paper expands this framework through case-based synthesis, conceptual modeling, and philosophical analysis. This OSF project hosts all related works, including preprints, conceptual drafts, and supplementary materials linked via Zenodo DOIs. Human Rights+ (HR+) extends human rights thinking beyond fixed categories as recognition expands from LGB to LGBT to LGBTQIA+ it focuses on invisible harm and the people lost in the gaps.
