Mapping Conservative Physiotherapy Approaches for Persistent Spinal Pain Syndrome Type 2 (PSPS-T2). A Scoping Review Protocol
Abstract
This narrative review aims to summarize and critically analyze the available evidence on conservative, non-surgical management of Persistent Spinal Pain Syndrome Type 2 (PSPS-T2), formerly known as Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS). The review focuses on physiotherapy-based and multidisciplinary interventions, including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, patient education, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches, and comprehensive rehabilitation programs. By integrating findings from clinical trials, observational studies, and case series, this work seeks to provide an updated overview of current conservative strategies, identify research gaps, and support clinicians in evidence-informed decision-making for PSPS-T2 management.
