Abstract

The dataset contains cyclic force–displacement measurements from experimental testing of the Rocking Tube Damper (RTD). Tests were conducted under symmetric cyclic loading up to ±25 mm displacement for multiple Belleville washer preload configurations. Recorded data include actuator displacement, applied force, and corresponding hysteretic response. The data capture stable bilinear elastic rocking behavior with peak forces up to 35 kN and illustrate how stiffness and force capacity scale with preload while displacement capacity is governed by washer configuration. These data support validation of a mechanics-based RTD model and demonstrate the device’s tunable and scalable seismic performance.
